About Counseling

Although therapists address many concerns, Wellbeing Designed consists of staff and affiliates primarily serving adults with special interests in the following:

  • relationships
  • adjustment and major life transitions
  • mood disorders
  • body image
  • toxic work environments
  • identity development and exploration
  • work-life balance
  • loss
  • racial identity and trauma
  • college student life
  • family conflict
  • self-care
  • sexual and gender  identity development and support

Individual and couples (relationship) therapy sessions are by appointment only and usually last for at least 50 minutes. We are conducting teletherapy services only during the pandemic. The current non-insurance rate for counseling sessions ranges from $150 to $160 per session, depending on provider, specialty, and type of service

We know that many people like to use insurance to cover expenses. We also know from experience that insurance may not cover all expenses including if you have a deductible that needs to be met first or your plan may not be accepted or in-network with a provider. Some may view these as barriers to mental health services, but we like to encourage ways to work through this and encourage you to consider all options as a result so you may receive the assistance that you deserve or need.

For telehealth services, we accept the following: credit/debit cards, HSA (Health Savings Account), and FSA (Flexible Spending Account). We only accept Carefirst Blue Cross Blue Shield plans but can assist with submitting claims for out-of-network plans to receive reimbursement if your plan allows. If you are using your insurance, it is helpful to ensure coverage before our first meeting. Please take a look at our "About" page for coverage types of each provider.

Note:  insurance is not accepted for marital or couples counseling (there is no code for that).

Good Faith Estimate

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
  • Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item.
  • You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
  • For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call HHS at (800) 368-1019.

This notice is required by law.
